For many years, the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) has worked to raise the aspirations and attainment of young people in Kent and Medway who may not consider progression to Higher Education (HE) as a route to success.
Our outreach work in this region is via the Kent and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF). KMPF combines UCA’s self-funded outreach activities with additional funding from the Office for Students (OfS) through their Uni Connect programme, in partnership with more than 40 schools and colleges.
As the creative specialist in the region, UCA promotes progression in creative arts, business and technology through a variety of activities, including workshops, talks and self sign-up events. In the KMPF network, we work with young people in Years 7-13 and those studying on further education (FE) courses.
Upcoming events
Our programme of self sign-up outreach events are designed to help young people explore their creative potential, learn new skills and make a difference. All of our events are free and materials are provided to anyone allocated a place. Priority places are given to students from under-represented backgrounds.
Opportunities for schools & colleges
UCA offers FREE activities to suit students in Years 7-13 or FE equivalent levels, as well as CPD opportunities for tutors and staff at partner schools and colleges.
Opportunities for young people
In addition to the opportunities which are directly bookable by your school or college, we offer free activities, events and resources that young people can access independently to find out more about creative pathways and careers.
Young people can find out more about our current range of opportunities on our student facing webpage, Get Creative.
